6'6” x 9'5". Antique Persian Malayar Rug, 120 years. Malayar rug weavers were known for their most decorative weavings and beautiful "boteh" also known as paisley designs sometimes symbolizing a sign of rebirth. This beauty has a soft blues, creams and tans. Low worn pile.

7'2" x 3'7" Antique Kurdish runner, circa 1910. Low, worn pile. Wool on wool foundation. Beautiful navy blue field with faded rusty reds, green and sky blue. The rich indigo navy field displays five stepped guls in green,soft madder red,navy and brown. Symbols include animals, combs, color samplers and hooked lozenges. The main ivory border shows the square Kurdish Kazak version of the crab design with details in various reds, green, teal, sand and navy.

The influence of the nearby Caucasus is apparent in the abstract geometric field pattern. The straw-sand inner border with simple reversing palmettes is more rustically Persia-nite. All the dyes are of natural origin.

The warp mixes cotton and wool,and there is a single weft between knot rows.There is end reduction and significant spot wear,but the piece is charming and authentic
