New Photos (and a thank you to Shira Caplan)

New Photos (and a thank you to Shira Caplan)

In a world where e-commerce dominates, we all know that great photos are critical. Sometimes a rug is just a rug until you put it in a room and let it shine. I’m always looking for new ways to stage rugs for display and Shira Caplan has been my savior. If you aren’t familiar with Shira Bess Interiors, she’s an interior designer who does everything from e-design to ground up estate homes. She showcases her home in Alton, Palm Beach Gardens on her Instagram. I’m a big fan. Her style is fresh and coastal with a bit of eclecticism.

I met Shira only a few months ago when she came in looking for rugs for a client. We hit it off immediately. You know those people who talk about energy and vibes? Ya, that’s me 🙋🏻‍♀️. Well, Shira has really good energy. You can’t not love her. At the end of our meeting, she suggested I come to her home to stage rugs for pictures and I very enthusiastically agreed. Our first shoot was just the two of us and an iPhone. The pictures were great! A few weeks later, I had a new shipment of rugs and a scheduled date with a professional photographer looming over me.

The day before the shoot I asked Shira if we could do it at her house. Without hesitation, she said yes.

I haven’t met many people who are as unselfishly collaborative as Shira. In many ways, she reminds me of one of my closest friends, Becca from June and Blue, who so generously promotes my business along with her own. People like Shira and Becca don’t do things to get something in return, they do them because they’re inspired by collaboration and value good relationships. Obviously, we’re in business to make money but working with other people who are passionate about their craft gives us fuel. It’s important to have  community, it gives us strength way beyond competition. So, thanks Shira. I’m so grateful for you ❤️

Also, I want to give credit to the interior photographer, Emily Rowe, who worked all day with us to style, lift furniture, shoot pics and edit them beautifully. I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for an interior photographer or branding photos.
