Kazak R-1001
Description
This handwoven Kazak runner was produced in the South Caucasus in the late 19th century. It is constructed with a wool pile on a traditional foundation, reflecting the craftsmanship of the region. The design features a series of hooked diamond medallions arranged along the central field, flanked by stylized rosettes and tribal motifs. A narrow border frames the composition with repeating geometric elements, characteristic of Kazak and Karabagh weaving traditions.
