Mahal 10246279
Description
This is lived-in luxury at its best. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this antique Persian Mahal rug is hand-knotted in wool and distinguished by a beautifully weathered, low-pile surface. A nearly ghosted central medallion emerges through layers of espresso brown, warm terracotta, rust, muted charcoal, and soft ivory. Its highly coveted patina and natural wear cannot be recreated. Quietly dramatic and effortlessly cool, it is the kind of rug that makes a room feel as though it has been evolving for generations. Its heavily distressed surface allows portions of the ivory foundation to emerge.
