Mohair rugs were used by nomadic and tribal communities in Turkey as portable floor coverings that could be easily rolled up and carried as families moved from one location to another. These rugs provided warmth, comfort, and a familiar piece of home as these communities traveled and lived a nomadic lifestyle.
