Description
This handwoven Serapi rug features a prominent central medallion set within an angular field and framed by a patterned border. Produced in Northwest Iran in the late 19th to early 20th century, it is woven with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, exemplifying the strength and craftsmanship of the Heriz-Serapi weaving tradition. The large-scale medallion design and bold geometric ornamentation are defining features of this regional style.
