9’5” x 11’7” Antique Persian Mahal, 100 years. Low pile. A very beautiful and old rug, repaired from holes and loose spots. This rug was in poor shape when I found it and has undergone expert restoration using old salvage wool. This allows for inconspicuous repairs. The resulting rug is intact, evenly worn and absolutely gorgeous. All over antique mahal rugs are increasingly difficult to find as they have and always will be highly desirable to both interior designers and rug collectors. They are appreciated for their beauty, complexity, and often whimsical nature of their designs. While the rug is formal, on closer look you will see interesting and playful symbolism. This is a once in a lifetime rug that will continue to appreciate in value.
Appraisal is available upon request.
The back is a deep gray blue (rugs like this are sometimes used on the back). The staged photo shows the back of the rug. For more information and additional photos/videos, please contact me at email@example.com
Wear notes: antique wear, no holes. Very thin and has been expertly restored.
Vintage rugs are made by hand over the course of months, sometimes years. Their imperfections and wear are evidence of the hard working human hands that made them and the generations of families that used them. Character marks may include repairs, low pile, asymmetry. More often than not, rugs are not perfectly straight. Please see all photos before purchasing. Color may appear different in a dark room or from screen to screen. We do our best to photograph the entire rug from all angles but if you would like additional photos, please do not hesitate to ask. Video may help as well and we are happy to provide. Rugs are washed prior to being photographed.
